The Leading Entrepreneur in Tech (LET) Award is a beacon of excellence within the Dutch tech ecosystem, celebrating those who are shaping a more diverse and innovative future in technology. These entrepreneurs stand out for their innovative tech-centric solutions, inspiring the tech community and embodying the spirit of ambitious, large-scale thinking.
Do you know an entrepreneur who leads a fast-growing, innovative scale-up with technology at its core? Nominate them for the LET Award before Friday 12 January 2024.
When nominating, think BIG! We are looking for a founder of a company that is undergoing massive growth and is on track to become a truly global player.
After nominations are closed, the winner will be announced and celebrated during the LET Award ceremony on 18 April 2024.
In 2023, we proudly launched the LET Award, an evolution of the esteemed LOEY Award, which had last been awarded in 2022 as the "Leading Online Entrepreneur of the Year". This transformation marks a significant shift, recognising that the tech industry encompasses far more than just the online sphere. The LET Award, emerging as a natural progression from LOEY, aims to honor the breadth and diversity of the tech landscape.
As a catalyst for the Dutch Tech Ecosystem and with the support of the LOEY Community, we are honored to continue to be able to award exceptional entrepreneurship within the Netherlands - and to expand it within the tech landscape!

Matthijs Welle, the founder and CEO of Mews has been unanimously awarded the inaugural LET Award! The jury was impressed by Matthijs' journey and entrepreneurial ambition. Despite the challenges of working in a notoriously difficult industry that uses outdated systems, Matthijs has managed to build Mews into a market leader. What set him apart is the jury’s belief in the possibility for Mews to scale and expand internationally, with an already growing global footprint. This serves as a great example for the Dutch tech ecosystem, encouraging more ambitious international growth. Having spent much of his time building Mews abroad, Matthijs is relatively unknown in the Dutch ecosystem. However, his recent return to the Netherlands (just 3 days ago), and the LET Award, present an opportunity for him to become a fantastic ambassador, showcasing the potential of entrepreneurship in the Netherlands.
